Teamsters began in 1903 in Boston, but first it went official in 1899 before it was actually serious, two groups decided to combined together in Niagara Falls in 1903. Which formed the brotherhood. George Innis was the president back in the day. Than in 1902 Albert Young became president. also in 1903 Sam Gompers was the founder of the two groups. the reason why Social Circumstances got so bad that the union had to begin because citizens did not have a lot of job opportunities.it got so bad to the point where there was riots and people fighting and even acts began. it was made to try and to help the people in need. Politically this helped with peoples health, government affairs and reaching out and listening to peoples voices. There are over 1.4 million members. its mission and purpose is to help organize work that way workers and speak there minds. that way they don't get ignored. the members get an extra 550, 700, or 1150 depending on the race of the members.

And 26 members in the exclusive board. Lately there is not much news that is going on with the teamsters. besides a bus strike that they did today. (March 25). basically it was about how there not hiring the right people for it. and because of that the people who deserve the job don't get the chance to show what they got. They are having a second trial though coming next week. Also they helped truck drivers become part of the National Labor Relation acts. yay!
